In the heart of the capital, less than 3km from Pare Lodge, the Port of Papeete and its trailers (located on Place Vaiete) welcome you every evening from 5.30pm in a warm and friendly atmosphere. You'll be able to sample all kinds of Chinese, European and, of course, Tahitian cuisine.
On weekend evenings and annual events, a local music band brings the square to life with the sound of guitar and ukulele.
The atmosphere is very friendly, and you can sit down in the caravan of your choice and order food, or if you have a sweet tooth, you can order from another caravan by notifying the restaurateur.
During the day, the Port of Papeete offers a beautiful promenade from the Gare Maritime to Place To'ata, with a crafts center where you can buy Polynesian jewelry and handicrafts, souvenir stores, bars and restaurants, boutiques, the Papeete market and the Paofai park with its children's playground.
